The Role Of Youth In Protecting The Traditions

 Malaysia is a multiracial country that have more diversity in terms of culture and traditions, From Sabah to Johor, every states in this country have its own unique traditional and culture. And also, the traditional food, clothes that's make our country looks more colorful from the point of view of tourist around the world. This traditions have been in a great care from the previous generation since beginning of the Malaysian Independence since 1957, till now, but in this modern era, especially the new generation, they seems didn't care and interested about the traditions that we have in this country. And this youth have their own role to protect the traditions that we have.

This generations should looks and research their own culture and its traditional value, from where its roots, there is many books and even documentaries that show about the important of the culture, apart from that, they also need to learn from the past generation how any traditions in this country still be part of Malaysian till this day. And sometimes with the emergence of the social media, this will play its part to influence this new generation to acknowledge about the diversity of the traditions in this country, Sometimes, the influencer from the social media such as Instagram and Tik Tok, will share and explain about the history of traditions. The well known influencers who always sharing about traditions is Mek Yun and  Nandini Balakrishnan.

Another part that role of youth in protecting the traditions is, joining a meaningful events that always present and sharing the importance of the culture and traditions, these events also can join by regardless of race and ages who want to share the traditions sentiment for sake of Malaysian unity, the best event that I can tell is Kereta Api Sarong, and annually flash mob event that organize by Locco ( Local Companion ), the pioneer of these event is Mr Shamsul Baharin Zainuzzaman, actually Kereta Api Sarong was inspired back in 2012, but with take over by Locco together with Mr Shamsul, these flash mob was started since 2017, with the first event is at Muzium Negara, and for these year edition, it was held at TRX, Raintree Plaza. The eventually of this event to promote the unity of Malaysian unity and sharing the culture and traditions, and its also can join by regardless of ages. The best thing about Kereta Api Sarong is, many attendees have to use the public transport such as MRT, LRT to proceed to the location that reveal by the organizer.

Thus, journey as youth still got a long way to go, so these people have to joining the event that open the mind towards the traditions, and also, sharing the great moment with many people, and create more colorful about out beloved country. And also, with attending the anually flash mob, its also showing our attitude about how we embraced another traditions, and it will be a positive things for tourist and expatriates in our country who want to learn our traditions.
